General Music

The students experience General Music class (a 40 minute class) 2x's in a six day rotation.  During General Music, students will learn:
  • Performing / Responding to music through singing, moving and playing
  • Creating and Notating music 
  • Reading musical notation
  • Listening and Analyzing music
  • Understanding musical concepts and ideas

Chorus

All 3rd graders are enrolled in Chorus.  This gives them the experience of being part of a performing ensemble.  4th and 5th grade students are in Chorus based on their selection of Chorus, Instrumental, or both.

Focus is on the following Elements of Singing:
  • Solo Singing (confidence in singing)
  • Unison in singing (blending voices together)
  • Simple Part-Singing in Harmony
  • Understanding and reading vocal notation
  • Following the gestures of a conductor
  • Understanding the procedures of being in a performing ensemble and rehearsal setting.

Orchestra

Orchestra is available to all 4th and 5th grade string players.  All lesson schedules and other important information is posted in the Google Classroom that is created by Mrs. Spinnegan,

Band

Band is open to all 4th and 5th grade students. All lesson schedules and other important information is posted in the Google Classroom that is created by Mrs. Carere-Fetterman.
